MEETINGS
Speaking openly about our own struggles from the perspective of our OA recovery, we bring (you), the suffering newcomer a message of strength and hope that is not available anywhere outside the OA Fellowship.
-The Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions pg. 146
Meetings give us an opportunity to identify our common problem, confirm our common solution through the Twelve Steps, and share the gifts we receive through this program. Whatever problems you may have with food, you are welcome in OA, regardless of race, nationality, religious beliefs, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, body size, education level, appearance, societal or political beliefs, food behaviors, food plan, abstinence, or any other trait. We strive to respect and celebrate our diversity.
In addition to in-person meetings, OA offers virtual, hybrid and telephone meetings that are useful in breaking through the isolation that may be caused by distance, illness or physical challenges.
If you decide you are one of us, we welcome you with open arms. Whatever your circumstances, we offer you the gift of acceptance. You are not alone anymore.
